Virginia lawmakers renew plea to federal government to accept land donation for Fort Monroe NMon

Several Virginia lawmakers sent a renewed plea this week to federal officials, trying to get them to take free land.

The three Democrats — Rep. Elaine Luria and Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine — say they want to protect the land on Fort Monroe for future generations and unify it with the rest of the fort’s eastern coastline already under the National Park Service.
