England | Rule proposed to restrict sales of certain homes in New Forest NP to locals

EX-COUNCIL homes in rural areas could be slapped with a clause ensuring they are sold only to people who can prove a “local connection”.

The ruling Tory cabinet on New Forest District Council backed the draft policy – which must go to a public consultation – as part of its drive to help youngsters who have grown up in the Forest remain amid a lengthy affordable housing waiting list, high costs of living and rising house prices.
