40-acre parcel donated to Rocky Mountain NP

Decorated naval officer and astronaut Vance Brand is donating 40 acres of land to Rocky Mountain National Park and is literally looking for an act of Congress to accept the donation.


“My view is that this donation is payback to the American people in appreciation for the wonderful times and many benefits that I received from great experiences in RMNP,” Brand, who grew up in Longmont and now lives in California, wrote in a letter to U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner.
