Solomon Islands | Tribal forest conservation area declared; will be managed by tribe

A SECOND Forest Conservation Area has been declared at Choiseul province, the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management, and Meteorology (MECCDMM) has revealed.


The Siporae Tribal Forest Conservation Area has been launched and declared a protected area under the Protected Areas Act 2010 by the Minister for Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology Dr Culwick Togamana on the 29th of January 2020.
