Senate may act on wide-ranging public lands bill soon; would include permanent authorization of LWCF

The Senate could move on a broad public lands package that permanently reauthorizes the Land and Water Conservation Fund as early as next week, lawmakers said yesterday evening.


"It would be great if we could actually get it teed up at the end of this week, so we move right into it first thing [next week]," Energy and Natural Resources Chairwoman Lisa Murkowski told reporters asking for an update on the package's timing, now that the government has reopened temporarily.
