Local Utah officials step forward to oppose upcoming O&G leasing near Arches & Canyonlands NPs

More local Utah leaders and governments are trying to stop the Bureau of Land Management's upcoming September sale of a large swath of land between Arches and Canyonlands national parks for oil and gas drilling.


The Trump administration has put more than 80,000 acres of land in Southeast Utah up for sale in what conservation groups are calling a last-ditch effort to sell public lands before the November election.
