Judge throws out case seeking to block construction of Obama library in Chicago park

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed last year to prevent construction of the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park.

U.S. District Judge Robert Blakey, an Obama appointee presiding over the case since it was filed last May, heard arguments on the motions from plaintiff Protect Our Parks and defendants the City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District, before announcing his ruling.
