High levels of radon detected at Carlsbad Caverns NP

It's a leading cause of cancer, with a death toll up of up to 20,000 people per year.


And it could be at Carlsbad Caverns.


Dangerous levels of radon were recently found at Carlsbad Caverns National Park, prompting the National Park Service to enact an “action plan” to protect visitors and staff from contamination.
