HOPKINS — The wild and woodsy Congaree National Park will close several days this month while staffers conduct a hunt to eliminate some of the hundreds of roaming wild hogs that have increasingly wreaked havoc in recent months.
The animals have turned their attention to digging up and destroying areas along trails in the park, which makes the pathways hard to recognize and causes some visitors to get turned around.
